A Cedar Rapids man is facing serious charges after allegedly pretending to be a public official during multiple visits to a local casino.
Jordan Proctor, 34, faces four charges for pretending to be a public official after a series of misleading encounters at the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort. Court documents reveal that on June 21, Proctor approached casino staff, claiming to be an agent working for the state fire marshal.
Proctor first told the security director that he was a secret service agent needing to check the hotel’s fire sprinkler system. In later conversations, he called himself a State Fire Marshal agent and even claimed to be a Federal Investigator, similar to an FBI agent, saying he was conducting an audit to ensure the casino didn’t have too much cash on hand…
