Gifford Fire – San Luis Obispo & Santa Barbara Counties
At 33% containment, the Gifford Fire has covered 119,214 acres since starting August 1 near Highway 166 northeast of Santa Maria. Crews are continuing work on both sides of the highway, with most activity focused on the south side. Evacuation orders and warnings remain in place for certain zones, and Highway 166 is closed between Highway 101 and SR 33, along with some local road restrictions.
