Clarksville City Council pushes rezoning case that could place dozens of townhomes on Bellamy Lane

On Thursday, Aug. 7, the Clarksville City Council decided to defer until September a rezoning request that could lead to the development of dozens of townhomes on Bellamy Lane, facing Civitan Park.

The rezoning request, to change 3.96 acres of two adjacent parcels of land from AG – agricultural zone to an R-4 multi-family residential zone, could lead to the development of about 40 townhomes, though the regional planning commission said there’s room for about 20 more.

At the city council’s regular meeting, former City Councilman Richard Garrett, who spoke on behalf of the rezoning case, said the development would be a hybrid assisted living facility, serving elderly and individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities…
