Cleveland, Ohio – A cold front sweeping across northern Ohio today is bringing widespread showers, thunderstorms, and the potential for waterspouts on Lake Erie through this evening. The most intense activity is expected east of the Lake Erie Islands, with some storms capable of producing locally heavy rainfall.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, the best chance for storms will be this afternoon into tonight, with rain probabilities peaking at 95% in Erie, Pa., and Ashtabula. Waterspout formation is possible over open waters, particularly near and east of Cleveland.
