Winston-Salem man dies after crashing during high-speed chase in Guilford County: Highway Patrol

GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — A Winston-Salem man died Monday after crashing while fleeing from state troopers.

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a trooper observed a white Audi SUV traveling 91 miles per hour in a 65-mph zone on I-40 West around 9:13 a.m. on Monday. A high-speed chase ensued after the driver failed to stop when the trooper turned on their lights/siren.
