Lakeland Man Faces DUI, Reckless Driving, and Weapon Charges After Impromptu Parking Lot Stunt
LAKELAND, Fla. – A late-night joyride turned into a jail stay for a 46-year-old Lakeland man after his fiery display of reckless driving caught the eye of a quick-thinking deputy.
On Monday evening, just after 10 p.m., Deputy Flores was in a parking lot on South Florida Avenue when she witnessed a gold Chevy Corvette pulling out of a parking space with a loud and smoky burnout. The car then performed a sideways skid before coming to a stop and repeating the tire-smoking stunt.
After the Corvette finally started to drive away, Deputy Flores conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Alexander Malykhin. Malykhin was immediately belligerent and uncooperative, deputies say…
