Murdered DC police officer’s boyfriend held on $1M bail

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — The man accused of killing a D.C. police officer in 1995 was held on a $1 million bail on Wednesday, officials said.

Amir Jalil Ali, formerly known as Kenneth Burnell Wonsom, was arrested and charged with murder on Aug. 5, almost 30 years after his girlfriend at the time, Denna Fredericka Campbell, was killed.

Investigators found Campbell, who was 24 at the time, dead on the floor of her bedroom on Sept. 16, 1995.
