Thousands in Augusta face nearly $100 dollars in new fees and that may go up

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – In the Maddox Road area of Augusta, they are not embracing the new city fees.

“It’s going to make it hard on us. What can you say, what can you do? You got a piece of paper, I can sign a petition and say I don’t like this, I’ll do it,” said Kay Anthony.

What they don’t like here is that they’re losing free recycling, but their trash service fee is going up $54.And this road doesn’t have streetlights, so residents have never been billed for them.
