CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – News 2’s annual Clear the Shelters initiative is happening the entire month of August. Other NBC stations across the country as well have teamed up with local animal shelters to help some furry friends find their forever homes.
“Clear the Shelters is the entire month of saving lives throughout the country”, said Kay Hyman, Charleston Animal Society’s Community Engagement.
Last year, WCBD helped 1,206 local shelter animals find new homes. It’s an opportunity to make a difference, bring home a new family member, and save a homeless animal from the kennel. The Charleston Animal society said shelters typically see high intakes during the summer months…
