HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) – The Harrisonburg Police Department is investigating a fatal crash involving a moped that happened Tuesday.
The crash happened around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday when 66-year-old Robert Jones of Harrisonburg was driving west on Reservoir Street near Holly Court and lost control of his moped and struck a curb, according to HPD. Both Harrisonburg Fire Department and Harrisonburg Rescue Squad members responded and attempted lifesaving measures, but Jones died from his injuries and was pronounced deceased at Sentara RMH Medical Center, HPD said.
The HPD Accident Reconstruction Team and HFD are still collecting information on the exact circumstances that led to the crash, which remains under investigation…
