KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Secretary of the United States Department of Education, Linda McMahon, is currently taking a tour of school districts across all 50 states.
“Lets get rid of the bureaucracy of the Department of Education, which is in Washington D.C., and let’s make sure that the states are empowered to do what they do best, which is to work with the governors,” McMahon said. “Let’s work with the superintendents, let’s work with teachers, let’s engage parents because that’s where it happens and that’s where change is made in education.”
McMahon said the point of this tour is to actually put herself out of a job and make sure the states can handle the responsibility themselves…
