St. Pete celebrates National Black Business Month with three citywide events

This August, St. Petersburg is honoring National Black Business Month by spotlighting the Black-owned businesses that help shape the city’s economy and culture. Throughout the month, The Greenhouse and the city’s Office of Supplier Diversity are teaming up to host events, networking opportunities, and educational programs designed to celebrate and support Black entrepreneurs.

Mayor Kenneth T. Welch emphasized the city’s commitment to inclusive growth. “Our city is home to several Black-owned businesses which help the local economy thrive; and to honor those businesses, we’re pleased to recognize August as National Black Business Month,” he said. He encouraged residents to shop local and support these businesses, noting that the city’s economic development efforts aim to create pathways for all residents to benefit from St. Pete’s progress.
