The City of Arlington is proposing a $12.28 increase to the average homeowner’s tax bill beginning October 1.
The sharp increase aims at buffering for state law changes and closing the $20 million shortfall for the upcoming fiscal year.
The property tax rate, which makes up a majority of a homeowner’s tax bill, would increase by 3 cents if approved by the council on September 13.
