Grundy County contestant wins 2025 Iowa State Fair Queen crown

DES MOINES, Iowa — Riah Schrage of Grundy County was crowned the 2025 Iowa State Fair Queen Saturday evening on the Anne and Bill Riley Stage.

The daughter of Landon and Cassie Schrage, Riah was chosen from 102 contestants who advanced from local county competitions.

Runners-up:

  • First runner-up: Ashlynn Gunnerson of O’Brien County
  • $1,500 scholarship and $300 gift card
  • Second runner-up: Annalise Buxton of Union County
  • $1,000 scholarship and $250 gift card
  • Third runner-up: Emery Hawkins of Appanoose County
  • $500 scholarship and $200 gift card

Additional Awards:

  • Outstanding Leadership Award: Kelsey Greenslade of Dallas County
  • $800 scholarship and $250 gift card
  • Personality Plus Award: Alexandria Kent of Fayette County
  • $500 scholarship and a $200 gift card
  • Queen Alumni Award: Emily Foran of Audubon County in honor of Julie Wolterman.
  • $500 scholarship from Iowa State Fair Queen Alumni and plaque from the Iowa State Fair
