RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Rankin County deputies announced a missing man was found alive in a wooded area on August 13.
Investigator Tyler Burnell, with the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office, said Tracy Chalk was found in an area off of Woodrow Martin Road. Burnell said Chalk is severely dehydrated, and medical responded to check him out.
Deputies said they received a 911 call after 10:15 p.m. on August 10 regarding a missing person in the area of Woodrow Martin Road near the Rankin County and Smith County line. They learned that Chalk had gone walking in the woods around his home. When he didn’t return, family members set out on ATVs in an attempt to find him but were unsuccessful.
According to the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office, teams searched multiple areas for Chalk from Sunday night to Wednesday.
