JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – In Jackson, residents of Blossom Apartments are facing eviction and uncertainty. However, they received help from housing applications, moving volunteers and community groups on Tuesday.
At Stewpot Community Services, tenants were able to begin the application process for new housing, just days after they were told to leave their homes.

“Tonight, DuPont is hosting an application session for residents of the blocks from apartments who need some help to relocate financially. So basically, we have a grant that we can help them pay their application fees and deposits, so that we can smooth the process for moving one place to the other,” said Jill Buckley, executive director of Stewpot.
Eligible families received help with application fees, security deposits and first month’s rent. A light dinner was provided, and transportation was made available for those in need…
