New acts join 2025 National Folk Festival in Jackson

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – More performers have been announced for the 82nd National Folk Festival in downtown Jackson!

Organizers said the new performers will be featured in the Family Area and throughout other areas of the festival through pop-up street performances. The National Folk Festival will take place November 7-9, 2025.

“The Family Area Stage is a vital part of the festival’s commitment to education and cultural understanding,” said Blaine Waide, executive director of the National Council for the Traditional Arts (NCTA). “Families and children of all ages are immersed in new, unique, and eye-opening cultural enrichment and creative-learning opportunities that broaden their horizons and inspire curiosity.”

The four artists announced on August 13 are:

  • Acme Miniature Flea Circus (Providence, Rhode Island via Barcelona, Spain)
  • Chief Shaka Zulu (New Orleans, Louisiana)
  • Leaving Legacies (Jackson, Mississippi)
  • Vasti Jackson: The Soul of Jimmie Rodgers(Jackson, Mississippi)

Schedule and festival site details, including performance times, will be announced in the fall.
