Lincoln lays out pipeline plans for Water 2.0 project connecting to Missouri River

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Lincoln’s quest for a second water source is moving forward, with public meetings now being held for a proposed preliminary route of the water pipeline that will connect east Lincoln to the Missouri River.

At the Sandhills Global Event Center on Wednesday, Lincoln Transportation and Utilities gathered residents who live along the proposed transmission main to inform them about the project and hear feedback.

The city has spent the last couple of years narrowing down options for a second water source and figuring out the preferred route to the Missouri, one that minimizes impact on the environment and disruption to property owners…
