WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The largest Go-Go festival is back for its 11th run to celebrate the official sound of Washington, D.C.
On Saturday, August 17, hundreds are expected to come together at Fort Dupont Park from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. in commemoration of Chuck Brown Day.
The festival honors the life and legacy of Chuck Brown, known as the “Godfather” of Go-Go music, and brought the sound to life in the nation’s capital.
The free family-friendly fest will feature live performances from The Chuck Brown Band, Trouble Funk, Black Alley, and more. There will be a Kid Zone, art, a Go-Go infused workout with a live band, the mobile Go-Go Museum, and a back-to-school giveaway from the Chuck Brown Foundation…
