WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A boy believed to be between 10 and 14 years old was killed Wednesday evening in a hit-and-run crash in southeast Wichita.
Wichita police said that officers were called to the intersection of Harry Street and Rock Road at 6:31 p.m. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene about 10 minutes later.
Investigation underway after pedestrian struck, killed in north Wichita
Police said two suspects – a 24-year-old man and a 19-year-old man – ran from the vehicle that struck the boy. Both were located and taken into custody with help from the Kansas Highway Patrol. Investigators are still working to determine which of the two was driving at the time of the crash.
The vehicle also struck a pole during the crash, which brought a power line down. The intersection remains closed as the investigation continues…
