ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man who attempted to run away from police by throwing a dog at them failed to show up in court on Wednesday. In May, police caught up with 41-year-old Bobby Chavez after they were called to a gas station on Candelaria Rd. for reports of a loiterer.
When police asked for his ID, Chavez made it seem like he was pulling out his wallet, but instead tried to escape officers by throwing a small Yorkie at them. Chavez then jumped a fence and broke into a woman’s apartment. Police said he held her against her will, but she was able to get away. He soon surrendered.
Chavez was supposed to have his bench trial on Wednesday, but failed to show up. There is now a warrant out for his arrest…
