Taylor Swift Reveals Physical Toll of Record-Breaking Eras Tour

Pop superstar Taylor Swift recently opened up about the physical challenges she faced during her monumental Eras Tour. In an appearance on the “New Heights” podcast, hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason, Swift revealed the less glamorous side of her dazzling performances.

While expressing how much she misses the tour, Swift admitted to enduring “a lot of physical therapy” and “a state of perpetual physical discomfort” to deliver her nightly three-hour-plus shows. She compared the experience to being “in season” as an athlete. Swift even resorted to using an acupuncture mat in her hotel room after each performance to alleviate the strain.

Despite the grueling schedule of 149 shows across 21 countries, Swift prioritized her fans’ experience above all else. She pushed through ailments like stomach flu, aching feet, and blisters, determined to maintain the length and energy of her performances every single night. This commitment to her fans, she explained, meant establishing a demanding three-and-a-half-hour set from the outset and sticking to it, regardless of personal discomfort.

Swift’s dedication to delivering an unforgettable experience for her fans prompted her to undertake rigorous training leading up to the tour. This included treadmill runs while singing her entire set list aloud, three months of dance training, and abstaining from alcohol throughout the tour’s duration. This preparation, she said, allowed her to hit her stride from day one, unlike previous tours where she only peaked towards the end.

Reflecting on the experience, Swift expressed no regrets, stating that the Eras Tour was the “most formative time” of her life. She learned the extent to which she could push herself, both physically and mentally, to achieve a goal.

Incidentally, during the podcast, Swift also previewed her upcoming album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”
