RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The U.S. Geological Survey has picked up the third small earthquake in less than two weeks in western North Carolina.
The 2.6 magnitude earthquake happened about 27 miles southeast of Asheville around 9:14 a.m. There have been no reports of people feeling this small quake.
This comes after 2.0 and 2.1 magnitude earthquakes were recorded earlier this month. Those took place 6 miles from Rosman in Transylvania County, near Lake Toxaway and south of Wolf Ridge.
The latest earthquake on Thursday is the sixth small earthquake in western North Carolina so far this year…
