The Asheville Police Department has brought back its in-house police academy for the first time since 2013.
The newly relaunched academy will also host the department’s largest class, with 21 cadets who began training on Monday, Aug. 4.
Bringing the academy back in-house allows APD to deliver training directly through department instructors, providing cadets with immediate exposure to the department’s values, expectations, and a community-first approach.
