NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Newport News Police announced the arrest of a second man involved in the Family Fare shooting on J. Clyde Morris Boulevard in May that killed one man.
Marvin Issac Redding, 40, was apprehended in Newark, Delaware by the U.S. Marshals and New Castle SWAT team on Aug. 5.
He was extradited back to Virginia and charged with first-degree murder, grand larceny, robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and discharging of a firearm in a public place on Aug. 12.
On May 20, police announced the arrest of Tony Jermaine Tynes, 39, who was charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit a felony, possession of firearm by felon and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
Police responded to a report of a shooting at Family Fare in the 600 block of J. Clyde Morris Boulevard around 9:20 p.m. on May 17. Upon arrival, officers located a man, identified as 32-year-old Dreshaun Pruden, inside the convenience store suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
