LARGO — After a second and final reading of three amendments to city ordinances — adding $7.50 to average residential monthly utility bills — city commissioners recently approved each of the changes in separate votes.
On Aug. 5, the seven commissioners unanimously agreed to a 10% increase to the solid waste rate, raising the average residential customer’s bill to $30.76 from $27.96 monthly.
But the vote for a 5% increase to the city’s wastewater fund was split, with commissioners Mike DiBrizzi and Michael Smith voting against the changes, which raises the average monthly rate to $75.24 from $71.63…
