A 14-year-old boy from Detroit has been charged with several offenses following a carjacking incident that ended in a high-speed crash. According to a report from The Detroit News, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office announced the charges, which include receiving and concealing a stolen vehicle, resisting and obstructing a police officer, and leaving the scene of an accident.
The incident took place around 4:30 a.m. on Monday, when the juvenile allegedly took control of a 45-year-old Detroit woman’s vehicle and then crashed it near Rockdale and Majestic Avenue. In the chaos following the crash, officers apprehended the teen after a brief chase. CBS Detroit reports that the suspect was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash, the specifics of which were not detailed by authorities.
