Winston-Salem nonprofit helps children with disabilities reach their full potential

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — Every parent wants to see their child thrive, but for parents of children with developmental disabilities or complex medical issues, it’s a challenge, and they don’t have many options.That’s where the Centers for Exceptional Children come in. People there believe every child deserves the chance to reach their full potential, and they’re making it happen with the help of a community foundation.“Our daughter, Clementine, our older daughter, she was born with pretty significantdisabilities, and we were kind of at a loss for what to do,” said Lottie O’Sullivan.A friend told Lottie and Kelly O’Sullivan about the Centers for Exceptional Childrenin Winston-Salem. It’s a place where babies can go from the NICU to the Zero to Three program for infants and toddlers. Lottie says the discovery was truly life-changing for her family.“So, when our daughter, Clementine, was 10 months old, she started going here, and itreally was a game changer for us,” she said……
