MONTGOMERY, AL — A new report has confirmed what many already believed — Alabama is the most religious state in the United States.
The study, which measured factors such as religious interest, the number of places of worship per capita, and the percentage of residents who identify with a faith tradition, ranked Alabama above all other states. Evangelical Protestantism remains the dominant faith tradition, with significant representation from Baptist, Methodist, and Pentecostal congregations.
