SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The latest COMPSTAT data from the City of Syracuse shows reduced crime in 2025.
Mayor Ben Walsh and Police Chief Joe Cecile announced that crime is down 27.3% through the first seven months of this year. Violent offences are down 18% and property crime is down 29.2%.
The COMPSTAT report said crime also down compared to the five-year average. According to Walsh and Cecile, this is a reliable indicator of public safety trends. Overall crime is down 11.3%, violent crime is down 25.7% and property crime is down 7.1% when compared to that measure…
