SULPHUR SPRINGS, TX — On August 9, 2025, Sulphur Springs Police Department officers responded to the Walmart on S. Broadway Street regarding a customer reportedly drinking alcohol on the property and possibly intoxicated.
According to the arrest affidavit, asset protection had the individual secured in a restroom area when officers arrived. Officers contacted the suspect, identified as Ian Joseph Short, age 35, and noted a strong odor of alcoholic beverage, slurred speech, and difficulty standing upright and walking.
