Dane County parks department buys more parkland as population rises

Dane County is expanding two parks this summer as part of its efforts to ensure residents maintain access to outdoor spaces as the county’s population grows.

The county has purchased a roughly 13-acre expansion of Babcock County Park in the town of Dunn for $1.4 million, and a 35-acre expansion of McCarthy Youth and Conservation County Park in the town of Sun Prairie for $1.2 million.
