Midland police arrest 3 in multi-city bank forgery scheme tied to $18K withdrawal

The Midland Police Department has arrested three individuals following an alleged bank forgery in the cities of Midland, Dallas, Odessa and Stanton.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by the Reporter-Telegram for all three suspects, MPD stated that officers were dispatched to a branch of Community National Bank regarding the possible fraud incident at approximately 1:37 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12. Officers stated that bank employees said that an elderly white male wearing glasses had been visiting various banks to cash checks using forged identification documents and checks.

Bank employees also stated that on Aug. 11, it was reported by another bank that the same individual had allegedly withdrawn $18,000 from a branch located in Dallas. In the affidavit, bank employees also said the suspect allegedly attempted to make similar withdrawals in Odessa and Stanton using forged documents…
