Man accused of killing Uber driver remains behind bars

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The man accused of killing his Uber driver will remain behind bars through his trial. Albuquerque police say 18-year-old Sheliky Sanchez Jr. shot his Uber driver multiple times on purpose.

Sanchez Jr. told detectives he had his girlfriend order the Uber because he wanted to let off steam due to “so much stress.” Police say he filtered through several Uber drivers and specifically chose Joseph Andrus to be his victim. APD says he shot Andrus five times and watched him bleed out.

Sanchez Jr. is facing murder, armed robbery and tampering with evidence charges. Judge Lucy Solimon granted the pretrial detention motion…
