Celebrating Mother Mary Beth Kennedy — Community of Caring honors her legacy

The Erie Community of Caring honored the legacy of its founder on Thursday, on the day she would have turned 99.

Mother Mary Beth Kennedy built a legacy of kindness and philanthropy not just in Erie, but even across the world in Africa.

Erie County veterans get a special visit from therapy dogs

On Thursday morning, that legacy was honored across the street from the Community of Caring building on East 8th Street, where friends, family and government officials joined together in memory of the organization’s founder.

Local representatives took the stage to make proclamations in Kennedy’s name, declaring August as Human Kindness Month in Pennsylvania.
