BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — An 18-year-old has been charged with drunken driving causing death in a crash at a Battle Creek park last month.
Gavin Scott was arraigned Thursday on four counts, including operating while intoxicated causing death, reckless driving causing death, reckless driving causing serious injury and operating while intoxicated causing serious injury.

Court documents show that around 1:10 a.m. July 14, Scott was the driver in a car that was doing doughnuts at Irving Park. His passengers included Daelnn Roark, 18, and a 17-year-old girl. At least one of the passengers was hanging outside of the car when it rolled over, authorities say.
Both of the passengers were ejected and suffered significant injuries, documents say. They were taken to the hospital, where Roark died from his injuries.
