A brush fire burning in the Gorman area of northern Los Angeles County has triggered evacuation warnings after scorching nearly 500 acres Thursday morning.
The King Fire broke out just after 1 a.m. and grew to 490 acres in just a few hours acres along the 5 Freeway between Gorman and Pyramid Lake, according to the Angeles National Forest.
Firefighters were forced to shut down both sides of the freeway for a time as flames got dangerously close to the roadway. All lanes have since reopened but drivers are advised to exercise caution in the area…
