MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – A Pennsylvania woman was convicted by a jury at the federal courthouse in Montgomery Wednesday for her role in a conspiracy to defraud the U.S. government of more than $1 million, the U.S. Department of Justice is confirming.
The jury found 44-year-old Queen Naja, also known as Renata Winifred Ince and Naja Talibah Zahir, guilty of conspiracy to commit mail fraud, according to Acting U.S. Attorney Kevin Davidson, of the Middle District of Alabama, and Special Agent in Charge Demetrius Hardeman, with the IRS Criminal Investigation Atlanta Field Office.
Court records and evidence presented at the trial showed that, in April 2021, Naja contacted Quentin Diego Sturgeon, 42, of Montgomery, through social media. It was there that the DOJ says she proposed a scheme to illegally obtain funds from the IRS…
