Local dementia community members to benefit from $125,000 grant

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Lifespan of Greater Rochester plans to provide transportation for people with dementia, and their caregivers, with a grant from the Alzheimer’s Association.

Transportation will be provided to Lifespan’s ROC Respite service for their weekly free drop-in programming. These sessions aim to provide an opportunity for people with dementia to connect and interact with each other.

Funding will also support the Deaf Senior Service Coalition by developing a new respite program for deaf family caregivers, offering in-home companionship to those in need…
