SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. (TCN) — A mother and her former boyfriend will spend time behind bars in connection with the death of a young boy who suffered a fatal traumatic brain injury.
The Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office announced that on Aug. 12, a judge sentenced Jason Chitnis to 25 years to life in prison after a jury previously convicted him of first-degree murder and assault on a child under the age of 8 causing death.
Chitnis’ former girlfriend and mother of the victim, Dyamond Hudson, pleaded guilty in May of one count of child endangerment causing death and two counts of willful infliction of cruel and inhuman corporal punishment resulting in a traumatic condition.
