Rochester officer shoots alleged gunman involved in prior shooting, police say

Rochester, N.Y. — Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting Thursday night on the city’s north side.

Officers were conducting a stolen vehicle investigation on Weyl Street when they heard nearby gunshots nearby around 7:45 p.m., according to Captain Greg Bello of the Rochester Police Department.
