SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The Savannah City Council reached a decision Thursday on the future of horse-drawn carriages during the heat.
For the rest of 2025, the carriages will continue to operate until the weather reaches 92 degrees. Starting Jan. 1, 2026, that temperature will decrease to 85 degrees.
“To the carriage owners, protecting your horses protects your business. Tourists do not want to witness suffering. They want to witness compassion,” one concerned citizen said during public comment…
