SEBASTIAN COUNTY, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Construction for the first of four projects in the Arkansas Department of Transportation’s (ARDOT) Interstate 49 extension plans is set to begin next week.
ARDOT said officials are set to break ground on the new I-49 bridge over the Arkansas River in Barling on August 22.
The groundbreaking is set to take place on the new bridge approach at the end of H Street in Barling.
