Brush fire near Sherwood burns field near barn on LeBeau Road Wednesday

Crews from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue extinguished a brush fire that burned an estimated 1.5 acres Wednesday, Aug. 13, in rural Sherwood.

Fire officials began receiving 911 calls at 5:16 p.m., reporting a fire in a field near Southwest LeBeau Road. Callers said they saw flames near a barn with residents trying to extinguish the blaze with garden hoses.

“More than a dozen fire apparatus responded, using engines, brush rigs and water tenders to stop the fire’s spread and contain hot spots,” said a Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue statement. Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies shut down LeBeau Road and provided traffic control during the fire…
