Woman arrested in Ridgeland animal cruelty case

RIDGELAND, Miss. (WJTV) – Ridgeland police announced a woman was arrested in connection to an animal cruelty case.

Police said Megan Davis, 39, was arrested on August 14, 2025, on an outstanding arrest warrant for two counts of aggravated animal cruelty. Davis’ bond was set at $10,000.

According to investigators, multiple cats were found during a welfare check on June 11, 2025, at a home. They said Davis had moved out, leaving the cats without food or water for some time.

Two of the cats were found deceased, and two cats were found alive in a state of malnutrition. They surviving cats were taken to the Mississippi Animal Rescue League.
