The excitement of the first day of the 2025–26 school year filled Katy ISD campuses Tuesday morning as families, educators, and students celebrated a fresh start. This fall, the district welcomed more than 97,000 students and 14,000 educators and staff across over 100 campuses and facilities.
Among the biggest moments of the day was the debut of two new elementary schools — Boudny Elementary in the Elyson community and Cross Elementary in Sunterra. Both schools were designed to serve up to 1,368 students, helping to meet the needs of the fast-growing northwest quadrant of the district.
