LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A driver who allegedly crashed into a Nevada State Police Highway cruiser, injuring the trooper inside, was arrested after troopers found him in a casino “falling asleep at a slot machine,” according to the arrest report.
The trooper was investigating a two-car injury crash on Tuesday, Aug. 12, around 11:45 p.m. on Interstate 15 southbound, north of the 215 Southern Beltway, when his cruiser was struck by a pickup truck. The report said the trooper suffered a cut to his head and a neck injury.
The driver of the truck, later identified as Mark Guyot, 51, drove away after hitting the cruiser but was taken into custody about 20 minutes later at the Silverton Casino, documents said.

Guyot is charged with DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm, hit-and-run, and failure of duties when approaching a traffic incident, such as slowing down and moving to another lane, court records show. Initially, he was facing several additional misdemeanor charges, including one for two empty bottles of whiskey found behind the driver’s seat.
