Two kittens rescued from recycling bin in Colonie

In what staff described as a terrifying scene, two tiny kittens were rescued from a near-death experience after being dumped in a recycling bin at Casella Waste Systems in Colonie.

The shocking incident unfolded on Monday, when the staff discovered the newborn kittens in a recycling bin that was moments away from being fed onto a conveyor belt. The employees then noticed the kittens just in time and halted the belt, ultimately saving their lives.

The animals, described as one male and one female, were in extremely rough condition when found. Animal control was quickly notified and contacted Noah’s Kingdom Humane Society, a Capital Region-based animal rescue organization, to take the kittens into emergency care…
