Baltimore Jury Convicts Repeat Offender Shakur Eldridge, Faces Up to 81 Years for Armed Robbery

In a case that highlights ongoing efforts to address repeat violent crime in Baltimore, a jury has convicted Shakur Eldridge on multiple charges, including two counts of armed robbery, connected to a botched car sale turned violent in August of last year. The defendant now faces a potential 81-year sentence, following a verdict from the Office of the State’s Attorney that signals a strong stance against such offenders.

According to a press release from the Office of the State’s Attorney for Baltimore City, Eldridge’s conviction followed an incident where he arranged a meeting under the pretense of selling a car, instructing the victims to relocate to N. Caroline Street where the situation escalated, Eldridge drew a weapon, and in refusing to be robbed, a victim was shot in the foot which sparked a desperate moment where the victim’s girlfriend threw out the money that Eldridge snatched before fleeing.

State’s Attorney Ivan J.
