BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The California Highway Patrol is remembering Officer Raymond E. Miller who died on this day 40 years ago.
Officer Raymond E. Miller died while issuing a citation to a big rig driver on the side of Interstate 5 near Bakersfield, according to CHP. A truck-tractor rammed into his patrol car and ultimately caused severe leg injuries.
Miller died three weeks after the accident in the hospital due to complications. Miller was a United States Marine Corps veteran who had served with the highway patrol for 16 years…
